Socio-environmental Responsibility

The Gafor Group is involved with various socio-environmental responsibilities, going much further than caring for property and assets, and giving support to society. This means, before anything else, respecting the environment we live in, reducing the impact of human activities on nature, doing sustainable business and improving the quality of life of our communities.
We are therefore aligned with aspirations of modern society, without losing focus on current business challenges.
Conscious and sustained growth
For the Gafor Group, development is compulsorily related to values such as respect, civic responsibility, preservation and sustainability. Any operation will only be successful if commercial objectives can be achieved through strict adherence to environmental protection philosophy and citizenship, matters responsible for our growth.
The Gafor Group has a strong relationship with government, associates and the community, by participating in social and environmental projects, including socio-environmental responsibility as part of our management model.

In the right way (Na Mão Certa)
Gafor is developing a joint work with WCF-Brazil - World Childhood Foundation - to join forces and mobilize governments, companies and third sector organizations to fight more effectively against sexual exploration of children and adolescent in Brazilian highways.

Doing good (Amigos do bem)
Gafor cooperates with the NGO Doing Good, transporting donations received all over Brazil to poor communities of the Sertão, the rough northeast region of the country.

Boldrini Child Center
Gafor contributes with monthly donations to Boldrini Child Center; a major hospital specialized in cancer treatment and blood diseases in children and adolescent.

Água Viva Stimulation Center
Gafor sponsors the maintenance of the Centro de Estimulação Água Viva, in Jundiaí. This is a philanthropic institution, non-profit, whose main purpose is to stimulate and integrate slightly developmentally disabled individuals into the community and the job market.

Lar Escola Coração de Maria Nossa Mãe
Lar Escola Coração de Maria Nossa Mãe, with headquarters in Piracicaba – SP, is a non-profitable NGO of public utility created on February 2nd, 1998.

Environmental Responsibility
In a permanent search of better ways to interact with the environment, Gafor participates in several environmental preservation programs, helping to build a future-oriented approach of respect and sustainability. -
Cereias Project - Center for Reintroduction of Wild Animals
It is a partnership environmental program between the state of Espírito Santo, Aracruz Celulose and the IBAMA - Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Natural Renewable Resources. It is aimed at treatment and readaptation of wild animals to their natural habitat.

Project "Reflorestar é Viver"
This project was created with the objective of spreading environmental consciousness in all regions of the Country through small actions focused on preservation and the necessary balance for sustainable growth and a better future.

Proper final destination of used/waste tires
The Gafor Group aims to reduce the environmental impact caused by improperly discarded used/waste tires. Therefore uses modern recycling and materials reuse methods, and is a pioneer in discarding 100% of used/waste tires.

Industrial waste water treatment
Water is a precious and finite resource, and Gafor management is aware of the role the company plays in society, as an entity influencing behavior. Therefore the Group built special wash-houses for industrial waste water treatment. This allows reusing 90% of water used for fleet truck washing.
